Thanks to everyone that attended the "Mini-Muster" of historic apparatus sponsored by the Frederick County Fire & Rescue Museum during the Francis Scott Key Antique Automobile Club 37th annual car show at Rose Hill Manor. A special thank you to Steve Hurst and Doug Riddle for coordinating the event and museum members Doc Kinney, Kenny Day, Ramona Ridgely, Susie Nicol, Skeeter Droneburg, and Sharon Botkin for helping make the event a success for the car club and the fire museum.
The muster featured some of the hand drawn apparatus from the museum, several privately owned pieces of former Frederick County apparatus and several unique privately owned apparatus. Thanks to all the private apparatus owners who brought their equipment for display.
Thanks to the Independent Hose Co. NO. 1 and the Junior Fire Co. NO 2 for participating in the event providing refreshments and fire prevention materials. Thanks to Ashley Naborczyk, MSFA First Runner up as Fire Prevention Ambassador and the other fire prevention ambassadors that attended spreading the word of fire and life safety throughout the day.
Special thanks to Doug Riddle for allowing his antique "hand pumper" to be used for kids to actually pump and spray water.
We were extremely fortunate that Chief Kyd Dieterich, Hagerstown Fire Department (ret) brought former Truck 16, the "little truck that could" that responded on a special alarm to the Pentagon on 9-11, and Bob Dinsmore brought "Tiny", a former snorkel from Fredericksburg VA to fly the American Flags at the show entrance. |
